First Church has two youth groups, a youth group for students in middle school, and a youth group for students currently attending and recently graduated from high school. Both groups meet twice each month on Sunday evenings after worship.
The purpose of our youth groups is to facilitate the mission of the church among the young people of our church. We seek to equip them and give them opportunities to become and make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a youth group, we'd encourage you to come join us. You belong here!
The Middle School Youth Group is led by Pastoral Intern Ken Wojnarowski. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. A typical youth group meeting consists of a "Question of the Day" which is always different, then they spend some time studying the Westminster Shorter Catechism, and then they play a game; which sometimes includes an all out NERF war. A couple of times a year they do an outing. Most recently, they have gone to Jak's Warehouse. The Middle School Youth Group is for students in 6th grade through 8th grade.
The high school youth group is led by Pastor Ben. The group meets the first and third Sunday nights of each month and spends roughly half their time eating and playing and half their time
studying the Bible together. A number of times a year the group will go on outings together (mini-golf, out for dinner, whirlyball, Chick-fil-a day, etc.) and once during the summer months the group will go on a week long trip together. Most recently the group travelled to Estes Park, Colorado and Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
