"New Maturity: Spiritual Progress"

April 21, 2024 Preacher: Ken Wojnarowski Series: Colossians: The New Self

Passage: Colossians 1:24– 2:5

Theme:

Putting on the New Self gives way to afflictions and suffering, which benefits the Body of Christ and our own Spiritual Progress.

Divisions of the Text:

1. New Suffering in Christ

2. New Maturity in Christ

Four Evidences of Being Spiritual Mature from Colossians 2:2-3:

A. Encouragement - A mature Christian is one who has learned how to encourage others.

B. Endearment - A Mature Christian loves the other people of the church. An immature Christian allows their selfishness to cause division.

C. Enrichment - When we realize that our treasures are not found in money but rather in heaven, we grow in our ability not to be tempted to walk off the path by the things of this world.

D. Enlightenment - A mature Christian has an assurance that cannot be shaken by the World; that there is no doubt that we are children of the almighty God. A student of God’s word will understand and see that, indeed, for those who are in Christ, they will be saved.
